Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Renato Robles and his development team (“we,” “us”) collect through the XP Troubleshooter (Renaissance Edition) website and desktop application (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data — email address, display name, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile photo/name, stored via Firebase Authentication.
- License and order records — your purchased license key, tier, issue date, and the payment gateway’s transaction ID. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe and PayPal process payments directly and share only the minimum data needed to fulfill your order (email, amount, transaction status).
- Support/contribution content — if you submit a How-To Bite (tutorial) or contact support, we store what you send us (title, steps, an optional video) to review and, if approved, publish it.
- Desktop diagnostic data — the desktop application runs locally and does not transmit your VMS configuration, SQL data, or network topology to us. If you choose to use an AI-assisted feature with your own API key, the content you send is transmitted directly to that AI provider under your own account, not through our servers.
- Usage/log data — standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps, error traces) generated by our hosting infrastructure (Google Cloud Run, Firebase) for security and reliability.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this data to: create and manage your account; process payments and issue your license key; provide customer support; moderate community-submitted tutorials; detect and prevent fraud or abuse; and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Share Information
We share data only with the service providers that make the Service work: Google Firebase/Cloud (authentication, database, hosting), Stripe and PayPal (payment processing), and, if you engage a support agent, the personnel handling your request. We do not share your data with advertisers. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Renato Robles and his development team, our users, or others.
4. Data Retention
We retain account and license records for as long as your account is active or as needed to honor your license (a Lifetime License record is kept indefinitely so your key remains valid). You may request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes (such as order history).
5. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at support@xptroubleshooter.com. You can also update your display name directly from your account page, and delete your account’s sign-in method from Firebase Authentication’s account settings where applicable.
6. Cookies
We use only the session cookie/token that Firebase Authentication sets to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase Security Rules that restrict who can read or write each piece of data, and server-side-only access to sensitive records (orders, licenses, payment webhooks). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for IT/security professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with a new effective date.
